January of 2014 my life changed forever. It’s hard to believe that it’s been years since this occurrence happened but here it is. I was raped in my home by a friend. As a culture we tend to only talk about the victims and their stories. But what venues do we give them to receive help or treatment? In viewing my photos, I pray you become aware of the aftermath of sexual violence. The “in-between” of the assault and healing. There is a whole mess of things that victims need assistance with. There is a torment that occurs for a lot of victims and often they are left to face it alone. I hope that in viewing my story you see how hard it can be and how to become aware of the signs of someone who has been harmed. Thank you.
